Today Kintore were on the road with an away game at Woodside against ALC Pumas with Cameron Cobban and Dylan Chapman unavailable. There had to be a reshuffle of the defence as both fullbacks were out. Jack Chalmers moved from sweeper to left-back, Ryan Parker came in at right back and Matthew Stephen filled in at sweeper. The game started with Kintore passing well and holding on to the ball. Liam Duthie was passing well with Harry Rae and trying to feed the ball through to the forwards. The ALC Pumas midfield were closing them down quickly and Kintore were struggling to make a through pass.
ALC Pumas took a while to get started but when they did all the pressure was on Kintore. ALC Pumas number 10 started getting on the ball and his pace and skill were causing a lot of problems and Stuart Derval had to be at his best in goal. Matthew Stephen and Jack Chalmers were covering a lot of ground at the back clearing up any danger. Liam Duthie was having a good game in the middle of the park and sent a good ball up the right to Matt Milne. Matt took the ball for a run, taking off the pressure by getting a corner out of nothing. Matt swung in a great corner which was cleared to the edge of the box and Ryan Parker had a shot cleared easily. ALC Pumas had most of the possession in the first half but a lot of hard work by Kintore kept it goalless.
Half Time 0-0
The second half started well for ALC with all their best football coming through their left winger. It was one way traffic and Kintore were struggling to get out of their own half. ALC got the breakthrough when their number 10 rounded Ewan Reid in goal and squared the ball for a tap in. The pressure was on but Kintore didn't give up and Matthew Stephen, Jack Chalmers and Liam Duthie were battling hard. Matt Milne dropped back in to centre of midfield and had a good run at the ALC defence beating three players but had no support. ALC Pumas went two up when Ewan Reid had a good save but the ALC forward reacted quickest to net the rebound.
It was all ALC Pumas but Kintore were trying to hit them on the break. One of these breaks saw Liam Duthie beat all the ALC defence and run from inside his own half straight through on goal with Matt Milne having a gut bursting run to back Liam up it was two against the goalkeeper. Liam had done so well on his run he deserved to shoot but he put it just wide. ALC Pumas put the game beyond Kintore with a third goal. Ryan Parker had a great run almost the same as Liam's before him but Ryan got the ball on target but an ALC defender cleared off the line. It was a hard game for the boys against a good ALC Pumas side. A mention must go to Matthew Stephen for his hard work and Stuart Derval for his first half performance in goal. Man of the match goes to Liam Duthie who had a great game from start to finish.
