Kintore were on the road north this week as Huntly was the venue. Again illness left Kintore with only 12 fit players to choose from. This would turn out costly as they met a very strong Huntly side. The game started with the visitors playing up the slope. The early exchanges were slightly in Kintore's favour when they forced a couple of corners but Huntly defended well. Half way through the first half Huntly got their first corner as the ball was fired in from the left, Stuart Derval rose well but lost the flight off the ball and could only palm it into his own net. This gave Huntly the lift they needed and they started stroking the ball around well, with the ball getting switched from wide left to wide right forcing a lot of pressure. A combination of good defending from Jack Chalmers and hard work in midfield from Liam Duthie and Matt Milne couldn't stop Huntly scoring another 5 goals, the pick of them a great volley from the right into the roof of the net.
Half Time 5-0
The second half saw Kintore kicking down the slope holding out Huntly for 15 minutes. With Danny Headly and Liam Duthie up front the ball was held up better and a couple of chances were created. Huntly turned up a gear and scored another 2 goals. It could have been easy for Kintore to give up but spurred on by Matt Milne and Dylan Chapman, Harry Rae beat the offsides and chipped the keeper with his effort going just over. Then Harry Rae turned provider with a good ball into Matt Milne who got between two defenders , rounded the keeper but hit the side net. The game was going from end to end with Huntly creating more chances. A good corner from the left was met by Liam Duthie who made the keeper work and the rebound was lashed into the net by HARRY RAE. Another attack saw the Huntly keeper save in spectacular style from Liam Duthie. A rare mistake from Jack Chalmers saw him slice his clearance into his own net. Huntly scored their tenth after another good spell of pressure. SCOTT CADGER then scored a last minute goal which capped a hard working performance.
Kintore were beaten by a stronger team but saw some good performances from Harry Rae, Jack Chalmers and Danny Hedley. Man of the match goes to Matt Milne who worked tirelessly in midfield and had made some good chances from set piece plays and defence splitting passes.
